Good Libations

Beer and bicycles just go together. But a Pittsburgh-based brewery, East End Brewing Company, has added a third component to the relationship: a good cause.

Held annually, the brewery’s Pedal Pale Ale Keg Ride raises money for In-Stride with Therapeutic Riding and Pittsburgh cycling advocacy group, Bike Pittsburgh.

The purpose of the ride, per the brewery’s website, is to “To spread the word about what it means to operate an environmentally sustainable brewery…”

The ride, scheduled for Sat., April 17, will be capped at 650 riders who will set off with kegs of beer to a mystery destination where the kegs will be tapped.  We’ve done this ride before, and it’s a hell of a good time. It’s about 6-10 easyish miles, with good people and good beer. To register, go here.
