Hitchhiking is now legal in the state of Wyoming, so Teton Pass travelers rejoice (cautiously of course. We have all seen horror films that start with hitchhiking scenes.)
Bumming is a lift is almost ingrained in the outdoor culture of much of the state.
How much was the law actually being enforced prior to the new legislation? According to this Jan. 9 article in the Rapid City Journal, Wyoming Highway Patrol officers only wrote 21 hitchhiking tickets through 2012.
I am happy to hear that hitchhiking is now legal in the state of Wyoming.
